McLaren to showcase Can-Am history at Goodwood

 


McLaren will exhibit a number of their heritage collection models at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Included in its 50th anniversary celebrations, one among McLaren's original Can-Am racers will run in the hill, along with the recently launched 12C GT Can-Am Edition. took five consecutive Can-Am championships between 1969 and 1974, which makes it the foremost successful team ever inside the series. Its drivers included motorsport legends Denny Hulme and Bruce McLaren. Using the 12C GT Can-Am Edition, McLaren aims to recreate many of the raw excitement and wild power of the initial Can-Am series.  Based upon the 12C GT3, it foregoes the engine restrictions from the regular championship and runs a far more aggressive aero package for greater downforce. McLaren will build less than 30 Can-Am Edition 12Cs.  Matt Bird McLaren to showcase Can-Am history at Goodwood
