Land Rover releases new preview video for hot Range Rover Sport
The upcoming high-performance Range Rover Sport has been previewed again having a third official video from Jaguar Land Rover. The model, which may be seen testing in the Nurburgring, is believed to become among the first models to derive from JLR's new Special Operations Division. Destined to crown the Sport range, reports suggest the performance Range Rover can get more power from its 5. 0-litre supercharged V8 engine, a similar unit found in Jaguar's XKR-S, tuned to a minimum of 542bhp. Other models using that engine include the XFR-S Sportbrake and also the XJR. By comparison, the foremost powerful version from the standard Range Rover Sport has 510bhp, and can also reach 60mph in five seconds having a top speed of 155mph. Sources suggest Land Rover is attempting to find a 0-62mph time of around 4. 5 seconds to the new model. Along with the visual changes seen here, Land Rover's engineers are expected in order to make changes towards the Range Rover Sport's suspension, including modifications towards the car's software, which governs its active anti-roll bars and air springs. A far more powerful braking system is likewise likely to become introduced, although larger wheels compared to the 21-inch units already fitted towards the Sport are unlikely. Judging from the late-stage appearance of the development prototype, we expect the hot Range Rover Sport to reach on sale at the conclusion of the year. Some reports have suggested the model could make an appearance in the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.
